Butt Injections or Implants Can Enhance How Your Bottom Looks

Written by Ella Stephen

Some women do not like parts of their body they’ve been born with and therefore want to enhance them. If they have a flat bottom, they may want buttocks that are fuller and well-rounded so they fill out their clothes better and look nice. There are two ways to enhance the buttocks:

  • Injections
  • Implants

Buttock Injections

Most plastic surgeons do butt lifts using fat from other parts of the body to inject in the buttocks area. This butt augmentation procedure is also known as a Brazilian butt lift. The main advantage of using your body’s own fat is there will be fewer complications and the procedure is much quicker than butt implants.

Obtaining the Fat

The fat used to inject in your body comes from doing liposuction on at least two areas of the body. Many people, because it can be done on either gender, usually have their stomachs and thighs liposuctioned, which may solve two problems at once. Then the fat can be injected where it is needed, even if it is just a small area.

During the procedure you will need to be anesthetised, either by using general anesthesia or with the use of an epidural. The type of anesthesia used will be different for each person as it is based on the recommendation of your doctor and what you feel comfortable doing. With general anesthesia, you would be asleep for the entire procedure, but the epidural would require numbing the nerves of the spine.

Having Butt Implants

There are some people who want butt augmentation who are not good candidates for fat injections simply because they don’t have enough fat on their bodies. The other option for butt augmentation then is to have butt implants put into place. Implants involve surgically placing artificial implants under or over the butt muscles to change its size and shape.

While most doctors recommend butt injections because there are fewer complications and the fat is natural, butt implants are a good option for some people where that is not possible.

As with fat injections, you will need to be put under general anesthesia so incisions can be placed in the buttocks to place the implants. After either surgery, you will have some redness and swelling and you may experience some discomfort for the first few days, but you will soon be on the road to recovery.

Noticeable Difference

You will be able to see the results after buttock fillers have been put into place right away. Even though your bottom will be heavily bandaged for the first few days, the difference made by the fat injections or the implants will be obvious. You should be able to resume regular duties about four weeks after having implants placed, but the turnover is a little quicker than that for fat injections.

Since both procedures are surgery, you need to discuss the options and possible complications with your surgeon. However, if you want to improve how your bottom looks, then implants or injections will be the quickest solution to give you the look you want.
